Shabbat Shalom 29 Sivan 5767

"I Don't Need Your Civil war"
Palestinians killing each other over power

Hamas militants captured two Fatah security command centers in Gaza and then began publicly executing the security officials. According to witnesses the murders took place in front of the victims wives and children. After the take over of the security compounds and execution-style killings, Hamas fighters reportedly kneeled down, touching their foreheads to the ground in prayer. Religion of peace, my ass.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Authority president, Mahmoud Abbas, has dissolved the Hamas-led government and declared a state of emergency, although imposing it in the Gaza Strip is unlikely, since Fatah has been rendered powerless. "We are telling our people that the past era has ended and will not return," Islam Shahawan, a spokesman for Hamas' militia, told Hamas radio. "The era of justice and Islamic rule have arrived."

Your brilliant blogger has stated time and time again that civil war would determine the future of the Palestinian people. Sadly, Hamas, which is backed militarily and financially by Iran and Syria has prevailed in Gaza. The Arab League and worthless United Nations are only capable of statements calling for peace. Islamic extremists only understand violence and military might, which is provided by the state sponsors of terrorism. That is why Hamas controls Gaza and Fatah is no longer relevant.

This weeks revelation is another shameful chapter in the legacy of Yasser Arafat. The late PLO leader embezzled hundreds of millions of dollars that were intended to improve living conditions in the Palestinian territories. The Palestinian people gave up on Fatah back in early 2006 and elected a terrorist organization as their government. The current civil war is a direct result of that decision. Ultimately, the people are responsible for the actions of their elected officials.

The question Israel is asking themselves is should they retake Gaza with military force. Israel has no interest in that headache. The Palestinians are on their own unless the UN wants to intervene with an international force, which won't happen. Life for the Palestinians in Gaza will continue to deteriorate. They will also suffer greatly if Hamas steps up attacks against Israel from Gaza, forcing the IDF to respond militarily.

As of this morning, there are two separate Palestinian territories. One is the country of Hamas and the other is the country of Fatah (West Bank). Last week Israel didn't have a partner for peace. Today they don't even have the idea of a peace partner. The irony is that between the Palestinian civil war and the turmoil in the Lebanese refugee camps, war is raging in the Middle East, but Muslims are killing Muslims instead of Jews.
