Here Comes the Hate Again

New Anti-Gay Group, Same Hate

It's no secret that I am a proponent of Gay Rights. As a conservative, I believe people have a God Given right to be free and live the lifestyle they choose without the government prohibiting any behavior that doesn't interfere or harm anyone else. If you want to make a moral or religious argument, fine, but that is between God and the individual not Uncle Sam. That is why I do not support a constitutional amendment defining marriage between a man and a woman. If a church or synagogue decides to marry a same sex couple, the constitution provides that right under the first amendment. Regardless of your position regarding gay marriage, the idea of hating anyone due to race, religion, sex, ethnicity or sexual orientation goes against everything Christianity and Judaism teach.

That brings me to the newest hate group in Illinois, Americans for Truth. The group founder and President Pete LaBarbera was formerly with the Illinois Family Institute. LaBarbera new group is "devoted exclusively to exposing and countering the homosexual activist agenda," according to their website. To show you the insanity of this organization, their current targets include Fox News and Wal-Mart for donating money to the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association. To show you that hate behind these religious hypocrites, they are also targeting the Red Cross for permitting the partners of homosexuals murdered during 9/11 to receive assistance. Besides the complaint that the Red Cross recognizes domestic partners as family, they undoubtedly are trying to persuade potential contributors from assisting the Red Cross until they change their policy on helping gays. Tell that to a 5 year old child severely injured in a car accident and can't receive blood because donorship has dwindled due to groups such as AFT.

Americans overwhelmingly believe marriage is between a man and a woman and that is an issue that has legitimate points on both sides. However, you can debate that issue without hating your fellow human beings. Groups such as AFT and IFI can sugar-coat their agenda all they want, but their condemnations and false accusations are hateful and you can't cover that up.

Blagojevich Corruption Shocking
Even for Illinois Standards

If you are an Illinois resident and are unaware of what our governor did recently, than you better sit down. Let me set it up for you. Imagine being lifelong friends with a person, who is your campaign treasurer in 2002. After your election as governor, your friends wife is granted a $45,000 a year job (under fed investigation) and two weeks later that same friend writes a check in your daughters name for $1500, claiming it is a birthday gift. That is exactly what has played out in Governor Blagojecvich's administration.

That man who ran on the notion of ending the corruption of the Ryan administration, has taken political venality to a level so low, that even the late Mayor Richard J. Daley is rolling over in his grave. Hardcore liberal Sun-Times Columnist, Carol Marin, isn't even making excuses for the great shame of the Illinois Democratic Party. Check out her great editorial in today's Sun-Times. I hope George Ryan is keeping Blago's cell bunk warm for him.

Homosexuality DOES harm both self and others.
