Blago/Garcia Support Hate Advocate

Illinois Gov. and Gay Rights Activist Support Farrakhan Adviser

The scandal regarding Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's apopointment of an adviser and follower of Nation of Islam hate monger, Louis Farrakhan, took a turn for the worse this week. Blagojevich released a statement acknowledging that he did not know of Claudette Marie Johnson/Muhammad association with Farrakhan when he appointed her to the Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes. Sadly, Blago has decided to stand by his decision and not remove her.

Four members of the hate crime panel have resigned this week after learning of Muhammad's ties to hate. However, I must say that I am disappointed in state rep. Louis Lang's (D-Skokie), decision to be a replacement of one of the originally two members. For decades Lang has been a representative I admired and one of the few Democrats I had supported. Lang's time on the panel was for only one day. Obviously pressure from constituents and his primary challenge for committeeman played the major role in his decision to resign... not doing the right thing.

I am terribly disappointed with Gay Rights Activist, Rick Garcia, comments of support for Muhammad as well as his rationalization about Farrakhan's hate speech last Sunday. Garcia and Blago have been using the argument that she can't be blamed for comments Farrakhan made. So I guess if you are a member of the Klu Klux Klan, but not the Grand Dragon, who makes the public statements, you may not be a bigot since you didn't actually make the comments.

I never thought I would see the day that Gay Rights Activists would follow the path of Far Leftists Jews and defend those who wish they were dead.

It must be noted that Muhammad has not been asked by the governor to repudiate Farrakhan's statements. She has refused to refudiate any of Farrakhan's comments. If you don't wan't to boot her for working for a bigot then dismiss her for her unwillingness to publicly disavow his anti-Jewish, Gay, Christian, Asian and caucasion comments.

Kudos goes out again to Michael Menis, Chairman Chicago Chapter of the Republican Jewish Coalition, for keeping the national chapter updated on how this situation has developed. The RJC sent out multiple nationwide press releases condemning Blagojevich and within hours of state rep. Lang's acceptance of Blago's invitation to join the commission, blasted him, starting the wave of pressure forcing him to reconsider.

Kudos goes out to the Illinois and Cook Co. Republican Party and State Rep. Sid Mathias for their quick response to the seriousness of this situation and asking the governor to remove Muhammad. I am disgusted, but not surprised at the lack of outrage among Democrats. With the exception of Representative Ira Silverstein, Senator Jeff Schoenberg and Attorney General Lisa Madigan, nobody has even asked for Muhammad to repudiate Farrakhans statements.

This will not be going away soon.

Paulie
