Jimmy Carter Has A Religious Problem
This past Tuesday the Wall Street Journal published a fantastic article by Michael B. Oren a senior fellow at The Shalem Center in Jerusalem. I strongly urge everyone to "click" on the above hyperlink and educate yourself on the history of the Christian desire to bring Jewish sovereignty in Palestine and the motivation behind Jimmy Carter's history of anti-Israel feelings.
New Sandy Berger Revelations Ignored
liberal media participating in cover up
Over a week ago the Associated Press reported former Clinton National Security Adviser Sandy Berger did not just steal classified documents about terrorist threats to the U.S. prior to his testimony before the 9/11 commission. He also hid those documents under a construction trailer, retrieved them later, cut several of them into small pieces and put them in the trash according to the Archives inspector general.
The day after the AP story, the major networks ignored the new revelations regarding President Clinton's National Security Adviser. Berger took the documents in the fall of 2003 while working to prepare himself and Clinton administration witnesses for testimony to the Sept. 11 commission. The same media that is shoving comments Gerald Ford made regarding his disagreement with the Iraq war down the throats of the American public and who ran countless stories on who leaked Valerie Plame’s CIA identity and the alleged torture of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, is ignoring the fact that a former National Security Adviser lied about what happened to classified documents. It is also apparent that the 9/11 commission never received all the documentation necessary to make the most informed recommendations.
If the major networks and newspapers such as the New York Times and Washington Post did their job, they would be asking the important questions. Why did Berger steal the papers? Why hide them? Are there other documents missing?
Sadly, the mainstream press is only interested in embarrassing President Bush and protecting President Clinton. Imagine if Condolezza Rice stole documents and hid them when she was National Security Advisor. The media would hound her and call for her to be prosecuted and sent to prison. Berger before this new discovery, pleaded guilty to simply unlawfully removing and retaining classified documents. He was fined $50,000, ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and was barred from access to classified material for three years. Do you think a Bush cabinet official or any Republican would receive a slap on the wrist? I didn't think so.
Edwards announces bid for Presidency
Is anybody even listening or care?
April 19th, 1995 is a day etched in the mind of every American. It was the day that the Oklahoma City bombing occurred. Obviously that horrible tragedy occupied the news that day. However when journalists awoke that morning they believed the big story that day would be the Presidential bid announcement from Indiana Senator Dick Lugar. Talk about bad timing.
Former South Carolina senator and Vice Presidential candidate, John Edwards, announced Thursday his bid to become the next President of the United States. Edwards did have a good media turnout for his press conference in New Orleans 9th Ward. The hurricane devastated area was the perfect backdrop for Edward's to illustrate his two America's theory. As far as the actual reporting of his run for the White House, it did receive adequate press coverage usually following the blizzard in Denver, President Ford's funeral and anti-war comments and in some cases college basketball coach Bob Knights possibly becoming the winningest coach in NCAA history. I guess in reality he did have better coverage than Dick Lugar 11 years ago, but it's a moot point. Lugar dropped out early in the 1996 race and Edwards will have the same fate in 2008. Edwards is an afterthought, he might as well go back to chasing ambulances.

Bob Knight...he's worth the wait
Legendary college basketball coach Bob Knight remains one win away from becoming the winningest coach in college basketball history. Last night Knight's Texas Tech team lost to UNLV in front of a home crowd that barely showed up. Knight has undoubtedly turned the Texas Tech program around, but Texas isn't Indiana where basketball is a religion. Even though college students are home for winter break, if Knight was still at Indiana University attempting to break the record, the tickets would be hotter than Colts Superbowl seats. If Knight was in Bloomington with his Red Raiders playing IU, the tickets would be just as valuable. No matter where Knight coaches or what school logo is on his trademark sweater, Bob Knight will always be viewed as the basketball coach of Indiana University, where he won three national titles.
No matter how many championships Knight wins or records he holds, the legendary coach will always have his critics. Many of these individuals have great disdain for Knight because of his harsh temper and lack of respect for sports writers. One writer who holds a different perspective of Knight is American Enterprise Institute fellow Michael Ledeen. Check out the above link and read a great piece on Knight by a writer who mainly known for his opinion on terrorism not sports.
It's the last weekend with a full football schedule, so we have predictions coming out the tucas.
Bowl Predictions
Rose Bowl: Michigan is a 2 point favorite against USC. This should be a great game between two superb teams who are well coached. This game will be hard fought and come down to a field goal either way. I like Michigan and the points, 27-24.
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma still has trouble sleeping at night believing the may be in the Championship game if it wasn't for bad officiating. The Sooners have something to prove and they will do so against Boise State who is a 7 1/2 point underdog. Hold on a minute! Oklahoma will win, but will not cover the line. Take Boise State and the points in a Sooner victory, 24-21.
Orange Bowl: I don't see much of a game here. Louisville is a 9 point favorite over Wake Forest and will cover the spread, 31-17.
Sugar Bowl: LSU is an 8 point favorite against Notre dame. This should be a good game, but I expect LSU to win, but not cover the line. Take the Irish and the points, 28-24 LSU.
BCS National Championship Game: The undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes are an 8 point favorite against the Florida Gators. This will be a great game and I do not know who will win, but I am confident OSU will not cover. A field goal decides this one.
NFL Sunday
The Bears will have their starters out of the game by the 4th quarter against Green Bay. However they still want to go into the playoffs on a high note. The Bears cover the 2 1/2 point line, 24-14.
The Giants will continue falling apart as they will not cover the 2 1/2 points they favored by against the Redskins.
Carolina can still make the playoffs with a win in New Orleans. The Panthers are a 2 1/2 point favorite because Vegas odds makers where pulling bongs when they set this line. The Saints don't want to go into the playoffs with a loss and they won't. Take New Orleans and the points, but New Orleans win outright, 21-14.
Maybe I don't learn, but I will give Indy another chance and take the Colts at home to cover 8 1/2 points against Miami. If they blow this game Tony Dungy should be fired immediately.
