Tuesdays with Paulie 5/23/06

Congratulations Rabbi Greenberg

This past weekend Shannon, the kids and I went down to Cincinnati to attend a ceremony for our great friend Jon Greenberg who was ordained a Rabbi during Shabbat morning services at the historical Plum Street Temple. My family and I were honored to attend the event as we were honored when Jonathan served as the sandek at Noah's Brit Milah. Mazel Tov to Jonathan and his wonderful family, especially his wonderful wife. May God bless them as they begin a new chapter in their lives as Jonathan has taken a job with AIPAC in our nations capital. Quick Note: Thanks to the blog power2thepeople for first posting the linked photo of Rabbi Greenberg

Good time had by all

During our adventure to Reds/Bengal country we took the opportunity to take an extended weekend and see some friends and family. Friday afternoon we made a quick stop in Indianapolis and enjoyed Kosher style corned beef at Shapiro's Deli with Gary and Scotty. My apologies to Rob for not being able to give him enough notice so he could join us. I am happy to learn he is continuing the Libertarian cause as he is heavily involved in upcoming elections. He shouldn't have that hard of a time taking votes from the GOP since Governor Daniels (R) has the fiscal discipline of the U.S. Congress.

During our time in Ohio we actually stayed in Northern Kentucky with our Friends Dave and Jeremy. Dave was kind enough to put the whole family up in his home and we enjoyed every minute of it, especially the pool (I got good color). We were also introduced to some awesome Ice Cream. Graeters is just that...Great! Even Oprah thinks it's the best and I believe that former fat-ass knows ice cream like I know Italian Beef. A special thanks goes out to Jeremy who was kind and sober enough to drive everyone back to the house after Saturday's reception. Your brilliant blogger had much to much to drink and was hammered for the first time in a few years. You all know Shannon is a lush anyway, so thank you again Jeremy.

We ended our escapade in B-Town or Bloomington, Indiana. My brother and sister-in-law with our nephew and nephew to be live in Indiana University country our alma matter. We spent Monday on campus and more importantly had lunch at Dagwoods, the greatest sub shop in the world...Hands down. FYI: Currently there is only one Dagwoods in town across from Eigenman. The orig location will re-open after a new building goes in. The rumor that location is open a few blocks down are false.

Paulie
