Ashamed of America for over twenty years
Michelle Obama never proud of country as adult

The wife of Illinois senator and presidential contender Barack Obama (D-IL) has never been proud of her country during her adult years. In a speech given on Monday, Michelle Obama told an audience, "for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."

Ever since Mrs. Obama has been in the public eye your brilliant blogger has been respectful and complimentary to the first lady hopeful. However this comment is nothing short of despicable and offensive to every citizen of this great nation.

I will give Obama the benefit of the doubt and assume that she poorly chose her words. That being the case she has explaining and apologizing to do to a very proud nation. If it helps let me remind her of certain facts and events regarding the USA she has forgotten about.

How about American ingenuity? Science and technology has brought us unbelievable advancements in the medical field and space exploration. Right after she turned 21 NASA launched the Space Shuttle Columbia and safely returned it landing at Edwards Air Force Base. The survival rate for virtually all forms of cancer has drastically improved since she became old enough to buy liquor. AIDS used to be a death sentence when she became an adult and today millions live expected life spans with medicine invented by American scientists.

Your brilliant blogger is alive today because of medical breakthroughs developed by American ingenuity. I am damn proud of my country for saving my life. God forbid she gets stricken with a life threatening illness; she will also be thanking God she lives in America.

Has she forgotten such events as the day 444 Americans held hostage in Iran came home to a heroes welcome? As an African American I would think she would be proud of her country the day Martin Luther King's birthday became a national holiday. What about the days your husband won the Democratic primary and eventually the general election to become a United States Senator? I would think the people of Illinois made you proud of your country that day.

For you personally, have you forgotten the most important day of your life? The day your husband addressed the Democratic National Convention and became a perspective presidential candidate overnight. If America's overwhelming positive reaction to his speech didn't make you proud of of your country then I guess you truly have never been proud of America as an adult.

With everything I have just pointed out for Mrs Obama, I haven't even begun to scratch the surface on why she should be proud of her country. If what I have said hasn't convinced her that she was wrong Monday afternoon, then at least be grateful to a nation that has provided you the opportunity to utilize your talents so you could create a great life for yourself and more importantly your children. A life that will be filled with limitless opportunity.

Paulie
