Two faces of Hate in America

Proud Neo-Nazi Running for Congress...Again
Art Jones campaign for congress based on hate and ignorance

I have always been intrigued by people who run for public office every chance they get. In the 3rd congressional district of Illinois, Art Jones is once again running for congress, posing as a Republican when in fact he is should be honest with the voters and run under the swastika banner of the National Socialist Party.

I first recall Jones running for the 3rd congressional seat in the early 1990's. At the time he was being supported by the Populist Action Committee, a far-right nationalist group. PAC believed Jones was a "viable candidate" who could obtain office and begin instituting their beliefs. At the same time the group was backing Joe Fields, a state legislature candidate running in California. Fields was a notorious white supremacist from Southern California who in 1987 "identified himself to reporters as a member of the National Socialist American Workers Party." [Los Angeles Times March 11, 1988 pg. 30 section 1] Birds of a feather so to speak.

Today Jones tries to legitimize his candidacy by wearing a suit and a tie. Thirty years ago he wore full Nazi regalia including a swastika. In the book "Old Nazi's, the New Right and the Republican Party," Jones is in multiple pictures (page 121) leading public demonstrations and wearing his Nazi uniform, proudly displaying the swastika. Jones would be to Illinois as David Duke was to Louisiana. Even though Duke, a former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, once referred to Jones as a "Nazi kook." Sounds like things aren't always lovey dovey among hate-mongers.

As he did in 2006, Jones is once again calling for the immediate impeachment of President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. He claims they should be charged with treason for conspiring with a "foreign nation (Israel)," to fight a war on another nation’s behalf. Yes, once again the ills of the world can be blamed on that old reliable scapegoat, the Jews. Jones does not possess the intellect to create new ideas for hate so he has to rely on old fashion anti-Semitic propaganda spewed for years with updated participants.

Jones disdain for Bush and Cheney has grown over the years. He includes four additional reasons besides conspiring with Jews why the President and Vice President should be impeached and put on trial for treason. After reading his 5 point rationale, I actually felt somewhat sorry for the neo-Nazi. It's obvious he is not very intelligent, but so badly wants to be viewed as a great intellect. Most people who are engulfed with hate are simple minded and that is how they are brainwashed into becoming white supremacists.

In morbid dark humorous manner, Jones website gave me a slight chuckle for an instant. His diatribe against the President and V.P. ends with "If America is to survive and prosper, Bush and Cheney must go and take with them their corrupt, Neo-Conservative Kosher approved co-horts." Must be reassuring to understand the dietary habits of those you hate.

Progressives show disdain for America
Berkeley council shuns our fighting men and women

I will never understand how anyone can despise our men and women who wear the uniform. The idea that you can hate those that provide you with the very freedom to live your life and then tell them to f**k-off is unimaginable to me. However that is exactly what has happened in the city that founded the modern day Progressive movement.

The city of Berkeley, California city council just passed a bill telling the U.S. Marines recruiting station located within the town, "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders." During the same meeting the council officially encouraged the anti-war group Code Pink to impede the work of the Marines in the city by protesting in front of the station. Adding insult to injury, the council authorized to give Code Pink a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.m.

The behavior of the city council is the very definition of hypocrisy. Berkeley was the birthplace of the anti-war movement during Vietnam, based solely on the ideals of free speech. Forty years later the same people who voiced their opinions during the 60's are now taking away the rights of another group to be heard. In this case the United States Marine corp.

Your brilliant blogger understands that Berkeley is a hotbed for Liberalism and the anti-war movement. They have every right to protest the war and voice their disagreement with our government. However, when you start using authoritarian power to disallow or impede on a any organizations right to free speech, you are planting the seeds for a Fascist state.

Nobody should be surprised by the behavior of the Berkeley city council. For some time now the Progressive movement has abandoned the basic right of free speech and has embarked on a mission to silent those they disagree with. There is nothing they hate more than their twisted notion of U.S. Imperialism. By quashing the rights of our military to hold a forum and talk with citizens who freely choose to walk into a recruiter’s office or to an information table at a school or mall, is high on their anti-America agenda.

Living in the Midwest, I often come across readers of my blog as well as friends and family who cannot comprehend the leftist hate of America I have written about. A few years back I was of the same mindset. It wasn't until I spent a week in San Francisco in the summer of 2006 that I experienced it first hand.

It was hard to believe the far-left rhetoric and anti-American propaganda that was coming out of the car stereo. In a country that is dominated by conservative talk-radio, these stations were doing everything they could to combat not just the political right, but any opinion that was moderate or even mainstream liberal. This part of America was a world of its own. Welcome to the Peoples Republic of San Francisco, capital city Berkeley.
