Hizbullah threatens retailiation for assassination of Mughniyeh

What exactly is a Mughniyeh? Sounds like a Persian dish similar to lasagna or the Greek version deliciously known as Mousaka. The cruel reality is it's a he who has been responsible for some of the worst terrorist attacks over the past 25 years.

Imad Mughniyeh was Hizbullah arch-terrorist and operations officer responsible for the 1983 bombings of the U.S. Embassy, and U.S. Marine and French peacekeeping barracks in Beirut, which killed over 350, including 241 American serviceman. The government of Argentina indicted him for the 1992 bombings of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, which killed 29 and the AMIA cultural building in July 1994, killing 86 people.

This guy can only be described as a real piece of sh*t. Thankfully somebody has flushed him away. This past week he was killed in a car bomb blast in a Damascus neighborhood. Immediately the terrorist world and their chief sponsors Iran and Syria blamed Israel for the assassination. I won't deny it, they are probably correct. However it should be known that the United States has been after this scumbag for three decades and had a 25 million-dollar bounty on his head. The United States applauded his demise with Assistant Secretary of State Sean McCormack saying "one way or another he was brought to justice."

Regardless of who killed him, Mughniyeh's killing will be used by Hizbullah and their cohorts as a rallying cry for revenge against Israel and Jewish targets. Can't pass that opportunity up now can we.

Israel has put Jews worldwide on alert for possible retaliation attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets. Hassan Nasrallah vowed "open war" to avenge Mughniyeh's death, the Israeli Counterterrorism Bureau issued a travel advisory on Thursday that made plain the seriousness with which it is taking the Hizbullah leader's threats. In the United States the FBI anti-terror units have also raised their alerts fearing attacks on synagogues and Jewish targets.

Your brilliant blogger wants to echo the words of Nasrallah. "Open war" it is, but against you and the disgraces to mankind you command and support your treacherous acts. Iran, Syria and even Lebanon whose house you occupy are fair game for any military strikes Israel, United States or any nation who chooses to protect humanity and destroy the evildoers who only want to kill the innocent. Say hi to Hitler when you see him in Hell. Hopefully sooner than later.

Congressman and Holocaust survivor Lantos passes away

If there was ever a man who was beyond partisan politics who not only served his constituents with honor, but mankind, it was Representative Tom Lantos (D-CA). His story is one for the ages. A man whom defined what America is about who miraculously lived beyond his 16th birthday.

The man from Hungary who never lost his ancient was the sole Holocaust survivor to ever serve in congress. As a teenage boy in his native land Lantos escaped from Nazi labor camps and the genocide of the Holocaust, which took the lives of most of his family.

The horrors he experienced in his youth shaped his entire life. He was always a vocal against tyranny or oppression no matter were it reared its face in the world. In 1987 then-Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping attacked Lantos by name for "slandering and vilifying China" over complaints about human rights abuses in Tibet. He viewed the attack as a badge of honor.

Your brilliant blogger rarely agreed with Lantos on the issues with the exception that he was an adamant supporter of Israel. However I always had great respect for Lantos because he was a man of great conviction not a political hack, which describes most of the bums in congress.

President Bush who endured harsh criticism over the years from Lantos called him a man of great character who was "a living reminder that we must never turn a blind eye to the suffering of the innocent at the hands of evil men." Amen!

Chicago's Finest Save Residents
Cops and Firefighters walk into fire to save children

It's nearly impossible to turn on CNN or Foxnews and not see a story about a policeman abusing his or her power. In Chicago abuse by the police is too often the lead story in the local newspapers. Sadly a very few bad apples are spoiling it for the entire bunch who put their lives on the line everyday to keep people from harms way.

Wednesday night a tragedy was averted when policeman including a detective working overtime joined firefighters to rescue residents of Chicago's Cabrini-Green housing project. Video footage shows officers avoiding flames by crawling on their hands and knees and hunching down to avoid flames a they charge through dark smoke knocking on doors to alert residents and carry children down five flights of stairs to safety.

Everyday in America policeman, fire fighters and 9-1-1 dispatcher save lives, but their great work is taken for granted as society fueled by the media only report the negatives. Nice to see the heroics reported for a change.
