Jimmy Carter and the endorsement of murder

Jimmy Carter legitimizes murderers
Rep. Kirk leads pleas for Carter not to meet with Hamas

From the floor of the House of Representatives you can hear the words of reason resonating from mouth of Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL). "President Carter, the voices from the grave beseech you - do not meet with the man who ordered the murder of these American citizens," Kirk said. The Illinois representative was referring to former President Jimmy Carter's intention to meet with the terrorist group Hamas and their leader Khaled Mashaal, who is responsible for the murder of at least 26 Americans.

Once again Carter is showing his disdain for Jews and the policy of his own government. By sitting down with Mashaal, a meeting he sought out, Carter legitimizes the treacherous acts of terrorists. As a former President his recognition of Hamas legitimizes not just the behavior of this particular organization, but all terrorists who resort to targeting civilians, often children, to promote their cause.

In a bipartisan effort, Congressman Kirk and Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev), sent a letter to Carter asking him to not meet with Hamas and citing by name the Americans murdered by the terrorist organization. The letter was signed by over 50 representatives from both sides of the aisle.

Hamas is the reason why there is no chance for peace between Israel and the Palestinians. As the ruling dictatorship in Gaza, Hamas has used the land that Israel gave up, removed all settlements out of in the hope of peace and instead saw their concession used as a launching pad for rocket and terrorist attacks. Hamas exists solely to kill Jews. You can't have peace talks with a partner who doesn't believe you have a right to exist. Jimmy Carter undoubtedly recognizes and therefore legitimizes this organization, whose goal is to finish the job Hitler started.

It would be nice if fellow Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton would call for Carter to cancel his trip. John McCain at least refers to Hamas as a terrorist organization and an enemy of America.

Late Afternoon Update: Obama criticizes Carter for Hamas meeting

On a quick side note, I was greatly disappointed, but not surprised that one person who did not sign the letter to Carter was congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). Once again Schakowsky puts her head in the sand when a fellow Democrat is promoting hatred toward Jews.

Child advocate honored then demonized
Daphna Zinman first hand account of anti-Semitism

Daphna Zinman can easily be desribed as a Mensch. For those of you who never heard the word before, it simply means "good person" in Yiddish. She is the founder and volunteer chairwoman of Children Uniting Nations—an organization devoted to the rights of children. CUN has helped children from all over the world as well as American inner cities, focusing especially on mentoring programs for children from broken homes in the Los Angeles area.

On April 4th she was an honored guest at an event held by Kappa Alpha Psi—the national African-American fraternity. The Israeli-American Ziman was given the Tom Bradley Award for community service. The gathering held in Los Angeles was attended by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, City Councilman Bernard Parks, State Senator Mark Ridley Thomas and Assemblyman Mike Davis.

After Ziman received her award she took her chair to listen to the keynote speaker, Rev. Eric Lee. According to an email sent out by Zinman, Lee starred directly at her and began an anti-Semitic tirade. "African American children who are suffering because of the Jews that have featured them as rapists and murderers. He spoke of a Jewish Rabbi, and then corrected himself to say ‘What other kind of Rabbis are there, but Jews.’ He told how this Rabbi came to him to say that he would like to bring the AA [African-American] community and the Jewish community together. ‘NO, NO, NO!!!!’ he shouted into the crowd, ‘we are not going to come together. The Jews have made money on us in the music business and we are the entertainers, and they are economically enslaving us."

The hate spewed by Lee continued and Zinman got up from her chair and left the room, where she broke down in tears.

Zinman talks about her experience with Roger Simon in a heart-wrenching interview of the pain she feels and why Jews need to be aware of the hatred toward them being preached by too many African American leaders. She calls on Barack Obama to "take responsibility for sitting in the church of Rev. Wright for 20 years and listening to this (anti-Semitism) and not standing up for the Jewish people."

Praise and prayers go out to Daphna Zinman for here life's work and the courage she has to not ignore anti-Semitism, especially when it comes from the pulpit. Her praise and admiration for the Rev. Martin Luther King is echoed by Whites, Blacks, Jews, Christians, Democrats and Republicans across this great land. It is everyones responsibility to not allow the few bad apples such as Rev. Lee or Rev. Wright to spoil the bunch, better known as the relationship between Jews and African Americans. I only pray it's not too late.

Media Bias, Partisan and now Cover-up
No outrage heard over anti-Catholic comments

During the 80's and 90's it was clear that the media had a liberal bias. The slanted reporting paved the wave for talk-radio and the Fox News Network. During the 2000 and 2004 Presidential race, the bias had turned to partisanship. The media downplayed news that could have a negative affect on Democrats and liberals, while featuring negative events or comments regarding Republicans and religious conservatives.

Today the mainsteam media can be described as being in-bed with the far-left of the Democratic Party and their secularist friends.

HBO talk-show host and comedian Bill Maher has made a career of making jokes about political and popular culture. He admits his own personal bias against organized religion, describing those of religious faith as having a "neurological disorder, that justifies crazies and stops people from thinking." With all that said, Maher has right to his opinion, that is what makes America the greatest country in the world.

What you probably are not aware of unless you watch his program, Fox News or get your news from internet sources (new media), Maher has recently made horrific comments toward Catholics and the Pope in particular. Calling his comments horrific would actually be an understatement. "If you have a few hundred followers, and you let some of them molest children, they call you a cult leader. If you have a billion, they call you Pope." Maher said. He then went on to make a comparison to the mortgage crisis regarding Bear Sterns by referring to the Cathlic Church as the "Bear Stearns of organized pedophilia."

Once again Maher has a right to his opinion. However if similar comments where made geared toward Muslims and maybe even Jews (unless he is a black minister), the media would be lynching the culprit in a heartbeat. Remember how the mainsteam press ripped Pat Robertson for his God is punishing America comment after 9/11 and similar statement toward Aerial Sharon after his stroke. Robertson was crucified and rightfully so. However, when Bill Maher insults a billion plus people, the same critics are nowhere to be found.

The truth of the matter is that the journalism profession is inidated with anti-religion secularists who cheer Maher on from the sidelines, ignoring his comments because he shares their viewpoint. Similar to how they ignored the Rev. Wright controversy because they are literally members of the Obama campaign, they will cover-up any news story that could cause harm to their leftist/secularist agenda. Not until the Wright situation became a staple news story on the internet and talk-radio did the first story by Brian Ross of ABC hit the mainsteam airwaves, weeks after first reported by myself and others.

What makes the Maher comments different is that the news story will die down after the Pope concludes his visit to the United States. Maher is obviously a far-less important figure than Obama, so interest in his comments will dwindle even amongst the new media. The mainstream press can ignore the complaints from bloggers such as yours truly and talk-radio voices such as Rush Limbaugh and Michael Medved. However, the next time the media assist in the cover-up of bigotry toward Christians, this incident will garner new life.
