God Bless America Alive and Well...Not Everywhere

This past Sunday the wife and I took the kids to a Water Park Resort in Sheboygan, which is about an hour north of Milwaukee. We were joined for our 3-day holiday by another couple and their children. With the exception of my youngest son getting ill on the second day of the trip, and our friends oldest child unwilling to sleep at night, we all had a wonderful time.

Every time I journey into Midwestern towns a few hours outside of Chicago, I get a real sense of America outside the urban dwellings. The first thing that is always obvious, patriotism is alive and well outside the extreme-left hatred of America found in the big city. That's right I said it. Even during the fourth of July, it's hard to find an abundance of American flags waving outside homes in big cities and their immediate suburbs. I first noticed this a few years back when my family and I went to Northwest Indiana to spend the Independence Day festivities with my in-laws. Flags and signs of God Bless America can be seen on every porch, once we left the Chicago area.

Another great aspect of middle America is that everyone speaks English. I'm no talking a combination of a little English and (pick any language), I'm referring to people of all races and national origins speaking understandable English.

It's refreshing to go through a McDonald's Drive-Thru and not have to repeat the order 17 times and constantly respond to the order-taker with, "huh." Not to mention when you get your order and pay, it's almost always accurate and you get service with a smile and a thank you. No, I am not talking about workers who are Caucasian only. Asian, Hispanic, African American, Caucasian, old and young, speaking understandable English and showing hospitality. I can't remember the last time I went through a fast-food drive-thru and understood the order-taker on the first try. Not to mention getting good service, instead of an attitude that screams, "why are you bothering me?"

Oh you Liberals don't give me your minimum wage bullshit. Fast food jobs in the Chicago area have been paying well above your Socialist wage standard for years. Unfortunately, we have created a culture that promotes entitlement instead of hard work as well as a you don't have to be educated or learn the language because society must conform to you attitude.

When my grandfather got off the boat from Poland, he was able to fill out a job application in English within 6 weeks. I have a great grandmother who took classes at a local community center to learn the language when she was well into her seventies. As my father put it, "years ago when you came to this country, it was understood that you would learn English." Sadly, that work ethic has been exchanged for I just came here now give me free medical care, housing and education. Don't forget about the in-state tuition rates for illegal aliens.

I haven't even talked about the beautiful 24 hour Super Wal-Mart in Sheboygan with the great customer service and the Asian cashier who asked me if I found everything I need and told me to have a great day when I left. That is America.

Why am I angry?

This morning I wanted to simply write about my mini-vacation. Talk about the fun we had and how too many women are wearing bikinis when lord knows they shouldn't. Unfortunately, it's hard to be humorous when Americans are burning the American flag and even worse, a U.S. soldier in effigy, which occurred yesterday in Portland.

If you don't support the war in Iraq and want to let your feelings be heard, God bless you. That is why America is the greatest country in the world. However, even if you disagree with the war in Iraq, damn you to Hell if you burn the flag and the men and women in effigy, who put their lives on the line, so you have the right to protest.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Apologists

It's shameful how the media and the far-left can take good news and turn it to anti-America propaganda. Last week at his Tribunal at Guantánamo Bay, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed confessed to being the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks as well as multiple terrorist attacks and plans. He also proudly admitted to murdering journalist Daniel Pearl. "I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl, in the city of Karachi, Pakistan," said KSM. "For those who would like to confirm, there are pictures of me on the Internet holding his head."

Instead of making his confession the headline as well as his gloating of murdering the "American Jew," many newspapers as well as news broadcasts have decided to concentrate on the interrogation methods. Basically taking the word of the 9/11 Mastermind who claims he was tortured.

CNN International barely acknowledged KSM confessions. Instead they reported the news from the angle that he was undoubtedly tortured by the evil Americans into making confessions. The New York Times, Boston Globe and Washington Post have already downplayed the confessions and the true evil nature of this monster. They are trying to turn positive news for the President into a story of how inhumane the government interrogators are. Anything to make America look bad.

What is ironic is the claims that are being made against the government. Sleep deprivation, Belly slapping, the Cold Cell and of course water boarding. Compare these methods to 99.9% of the techniques used by every other country on the planet, we are sending our prisoners to Disneyland. If anyone in their right mind believes that our government under any administration hasn't used harsh methods to obtain information that is vital the safety of our citizens, lives in a fairytale land. Henry Kissinger said, "a democracy can't survive by being a democracy outside it's borders." The fact that anyone who would shame the memory of the 3000 plus murdered on 9/11, by defending this son-of-a-bitch, should go spew their opinions in an Islamic country. I'm sure they will feel different about the U.S.A while electrodes are being clipped to their testicles or nipples.
