Obama will make it official

Saturday morning Illinois Senator Barack Obama will make his bid to seek the Democratic nomination for President of the United States official. No more exploratory committees for the junior senator from Illinois, it will become a done deal when he holds a press conference in Springfield tomorrow around 10AM.

In the past you have heard me explain why Obama can win. Charm, Charisma, looks and media hype are all contributing factors why he can be the next President of the United States. However, Obama has three major negatives going against him this election cycle.

For starters his experience is still a negative. There is a small percentage of the population that will view his youth and inexperience against him. His voting record when he served in the Illinois senate will be a major negative once revealed. Obama is no middle of the road moderate. He is a hardcore liberal never seeing a tax increase or social program he didn't like. That may not hurt him in the primary amongst the far left, but it will damage him with Independents and disgruntle Republicans casting a Democratic ballot.

Finally we have the Hillary factor. At no time has selfishness and determination ever embodied one candidate as much as the former first lady. Her investigators will leave no stone unturned when it comes to digging into the past of her opponents. We have already learned of Obama's drug use, that may not be a big deal too many, but often where there is cocaine there is other shady activity. The bottom line is if Obama or even Edwards, Biden or Richardson have skeletons hidden deep in their closets, she will find them and her friends in the press will print it.
The politics of personal destruction may be Obama or any candidate against Clinton's personal and political demise. Be afraid, be very afraid.


Hollywood Shame
Anna Nicole to be brutalized in death

I'm not going to dwell on the death of Anna Nicole Smith, but will simply say that anytime a young woman with a young child dies it is a tragedy. Over the next few weeks we will see Hollywood, 24 hour news channels and the Entertainment media at it's worst. She has not been dead 24 hours and the speculation of who her baby daughters father is and if her death was an overdose, suicide or murder is dominating the airways.

The Drudge Report is running stories claiming she choked on her own vomit, illegal drugs were found in her room, the battle of her fortune and her mother claims that drugs killed her. The video of her last moments on earth were sold for 500k. I haven't see the "E" Channel this excited since the Rosie/Donald feud began.

The exploitation of this woman's death will be shameless, but sadly the American public eats it up and people profit from the tragedy. My prayers are with her family and especially her infant daughter.
